Peppermint Iced Coffee

It’s never too cold for iced coffee—especially when it’s filled with crushed peppermint. See how to pour your cup of STARBUCKS Peppermint Mocha Flavored Coffee over ice to make your favorite cup a little cooler.

INGREDIENTS

Water

Sugar

Crushed peppermint candy

Half-and-half

8 tablespoons ground STARBUCKS Peppermint Mocha Flavored Coffee

Ice

Cream

*This recipe uses a Chemex Coffeemaker

 

DIRECTIONS

For the Simple Syrup

1.Mix one part water with one part sugar and heat until sugar is dissolved.

 

For the Peppermint Ice Cubes

1.Mix one part crushed peppermint with one part half-and-half and pour into an ice tray.

2.Freeze.

 

For the Iced Coffee

1.Add ice to Chemex.

2.Wet filter with hot water before discarding, then rinse water to give your coffee the purest flavor possible.

3.Scoop ground coffee into filter (6 ounces of water for every 4 tablespoons of coffee).

4. Slowly pour 12 ounces of water over the ground coffee, pausing for 10 seconds to let the coffee bloom and develop flavor.

5.Wet the rim of a glass and dip, first into simple syrup, then into crushed peppermint, until the rim is coated.

6.Fill glass with ice cubes and pour coffee from Chemex. For an extra festive treat, use peppermint ice cubes.

7.Add cream to taste and enjoy!
